Omar Thornton’s Mother Speaks!

By Nicholas Stix

Does she or doesn’t she defend him? You decide, and let me know.

I would say she was justifying and excusing what her son did, which is a kind of defense.

There are four ways a defense attorney can defend murder. One, my client didn't do it. Two, it was an accident or something. Three, it was legally justified. Four, it was excusable.

The defense for Thornton is the fourth option, which is what his mother is using. In black on white murders, the fourth option is often used in some fashion.

Also, I noticed that the female local news host called Thornton the "accused."
