Police arrest Forks man wanted in stabbing death of girlfriend

FORKS, Wash. -- Police have arrested a man suspected in the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend.

Moises Ramirez-Matias was arrested late Wednesday morning, Forks police said. He was wanted in connection to the death of
Laranda Konopaski, who was found with multiple stab wounds at her home early Sunday.

The woman's 4-year-old daughter called 911 just after 5 a.m. Sunday to report her mom was hurt. Medics rushed to the Rainforest Mobile Home Park where they found Konopaski suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was taken to Forks Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing were not immediately clear. Police said Konopaski lived with Ramirez-Matias but there have been no prior reports of domestic violence and Ramirez-Moises does not have any known prior criminal history. [N.S.: Well, that’s a known lie. The man had illegally entered the country, been deported, and then committed the felony of illegally re-entering the country. And on top of that, he was a known child rapist.]

The 4-year-old girl is now staying with Child Protective Services.
