"I am not aware of a single positive influence this young woman had in her life."

Basically, the poor woman never had a fighting chance straight out of the gate. Who said money cures all ills?

In Psycho (1960), a Texas oilman character says, "Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy off an awful lot of unhappiness." Apparently not, in this case.

Some people are born with the proverbial spoon in their mouth but turn out just fine, others find reasons to be miserable. They surround themselves with losers, ingest drugs and alcohol to numb themselves from the horror of being rich and not having to work like dogs their whole life. As one of those people who has had to work for every scrap I just can't summon any sympathy for them.

OK, in a weird way I kind of wonder if I had been born into that kind of privilege and knew nothing else maybe my perspective would be different, never having experienced true struggle or negativity maybe things that would minor annoyances to blue collar people would seem horrifying to them. Bobby Kristina appeared to be one of those people, too bad for her that her mother didn't do a better job of instilling some values in her that she could have avoided her fate, but considering her mother essentially committed suicide I think there was something lacking in her also.

Despite that, I still can't wrap my mind around people who are good looking, rich and have achieved success beyond the wildest dreams of 99.9% of the people living in this world being so miserable they have to take drugs and alcohol to the point they simply die. Recent deaths (essentially suicides) of celebs like Amy Winehouse, Cory Monteith or Heath Ledger just blow my mind. My god, you're born with looks, talent and actually hit the lottery by achieving success in entertainment but still can't appreciate it, and these are people that weren't born in privilege but worked their way up. Yet they still can't be emotionally balanced enough to live with what they've achieved. To someone like me it's just incomprehensible. Jerry PDX
